Gregory V. Milano
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Greg Milano is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fortuna Advisors.  He brings a highly successful track record for starting and operating corporate advisory businesses in the shareholder value field as well as a unique experience advising clients with the industry’s two primary ideologies: EVA and HOLT. 

Most recently, Mr. Milano was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, Co-Head of the Investment Banking Department's Strategic Finance Group in the Americas and Head of Buyside Insights Group in the Americas, which provided the Bank's clients with strategic insights using HOLT, a proprietary value-based framework. Mr. Milano covered the energy and technology industries and advised executives at over 100 clients on market expectations and the implications for the development and valuation of corporate strategic initiatives including M&A, capital deployment and equity financings.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2004, Mr. Milano spent 11 years at Stern Stewart & Co., a general management consulting firm focused on shareholder value applications using EVA®, where he most recently was a partner and president of the North America Division. Mr. Milano also founded and managed Stern Stewart Europe, developed and managed over 150 client relationships for companies in a wide range of industries and managed over $50 million in consulting project revenue.

Mr. Milano began his career at the Grumman Aerospace Corporation where he began as a flight control system design engineer and then spent two years in the corporate business analysis group.

Mr. Milano has been published in the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, The Sunday Times, Sunday Business, Financial Director and the Financial Times, and has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg and Sky Business News. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from New York University.

John R. Cryan
Partner and Co-Founder

John Cryan is a Partner and Co-Founder of Fortuna Advisors. Mr. Cryan is a results-oriented corporate finance professional with strong consultative skills and advanced expertise in company valuation methods.  He brings a significant history of managing and delivering insightful corporate advisory projects.

Most recently, Mr. Cryan was a Vice President in Credit Suisse’s Investment Banking Department's Strategic Finance Group. Using HOLT, a proprietary corporate performance and valuation methodology, Mr. Cryan advised senior level executives on the key drivers of enterprise performance and the implementation of corporate strategies for delivering superior returns. He recommended strategic and financial alternatives including M&A, divestitures, equity and debt issuance, share repurchases, organic operating and investor relations strategies.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2006, Mr. Cryan was a Manager at Accenture, one of the worlds largest management consulting firms. He was a member of the Firm’s Finance & Performance Management Global Service Line focused on designing and delivering Enterprise Performance Management capabilities for Fortune 500 clients. In addition, Mr. Cryan was one of the Firm’s Subject Matter Experts on Shareholder Value Analysis and assisted in the development of the Firm’s consulting methodologies and thought capital on this subject.

Mr. Cryan holds a BA in Healthcare Administration from Arcadia University and an MBA from American University.

Steven C. Treadwell
Partner

Steven Treadwell is a Partner at Fortuna Advisors.  With nearly 15 years of professional experience, Mr. Treadwell brings strong leadership and innovation skills to our clients with proven expertise in advisory services and value-based frameworks. 

Mr. Treadwell joined Fortuna having worked for the last seven years at Credit Suisse where he helped build the Buy-Side Insights Group within the firm's investment banking division and served as the Head of the Strategic Finance Group in Europe.  Mr. Treadwell's extensive use of the HOLT Framework and ability to build strong client relationships at the CEO/CFO level made him a trusted advisory on key strategic, financing and valuation issues.  Over the course of his career at Credit Suisse, Mr. Treadwell worked with some of the largest companies in the world by providing capital market insights on key issues regarding growth strategies, acquisitions/divestitures, share repurchases and capital structure. 

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Treadwell worked at HOLT Value Associates (HOLT was acquired by Credit Suisse in 2002) in their corporate advisory business.  In addition to his experience in value-based management advisory, Mr. Treadwell worked at Sara Lee Corporation as a Manager in the Financial Planning & Analysis department and earned his CPA while working in the audit services department of Ernst & Young, LLP. 

Mr. Treadwell holds a BBA in Finance & Accounting from the University of Toledo and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
